With more than five decades in professional kitchens, Kent Rathbun has helped shape the Texas dining landscape. His career spans Mr. B’s in New Orleans, The Mansion on Turtle Creek and some of Dallas’s most respected kitchens.
As founder of Abacus and Jasper’s, Rathbun earned national acclaim for bold, approachable cooking grounded in disciplined technique. His restaurants received Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four Diamond recognition, while he earned four James Beard nominations.
He has cooked for Queen Elizabeth, served as a featured chef for the Bush inaugural ball and defeated Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America. At On the Rocks, he brings that experience to an Italian-rooted menu created for Burleson.
